North America

The third largest continent, is made up of 23 countries, including all of the Caribbean and Central America countries, Bermuda, Canada, Mexico, the United States of America, and Greenland - the world's largest island.
south America

The fourth largest continent, it has 12 independent countries and 3 dependent overseas territories of the UK and France.
antarctica

No-one lives here, in the way that they do in the rest of the world. People who travel to or live in Antarctica are those who live and work on scientific research bases, and tourists.
africa
(30 370 000 sq. km)
Africa is the world's second largest and second most-populous continent. It is huge comprising of 54 countries.
europe

The continent of Europe, which is the second smallest continent, has 51 independent states, stretching from the island country of Iceland in the North Atlantic Ocean to the vast land of Russia, which is partly situated on the Asian continent but is regarded as being culturally European.

Asia is the largest and most populous continent. It includes 50 independent countries and occupies the eastern part of the single Eurasian landmass. Asia is divided into five regions: Western, SouthEast, South, East and Central.
Australia

The smallest continent in the world with 13 independent countries. Australia is both a country and a continent: the country called Australia is a part of the continent that is also called Australia. Australia is also a part of the region called Oceania, which is not technically a continent. It is also a part of the region called Australasia, which is a sub-region of Oceania.
I decided to combine Australia and Zealandia to make the countries fall under the area Oceania, because it was starting to become really confusing as to which countries fall under which continents and areas... so click here for any countries and islands in the Australia / New Zealand area.
zealandia
(4 900 000 sq. km)
Zealandia, in the South Pacific Ocean, also known as the New Zealand continent or Tasmantis, is an almost entirely submerged mass of continental crust that sank after breaking away from Australia 60–85 million years ago, having separated from Antarctica between 85 and 130 million years ago. It's only land portions are the islands of New Zealand and New Caledonia.
