Bornholm Worldschool Hub: Join them at their hub with your camping gear or opt to rent accommodations at the campsite. You’re welcome to join for the entire period or for one or more weeks. Their aim is to create a wonderful gathering of homeschoolers/unschoolers to share some quality time. Bornholm, boasts stunning, diverse nature and earns its nickname “Sunshine Island” for good reason. Additionally, it’s known for hosting the largest homeschooling and unschooling community in Europe. Each week, they’ll arrange around five activities such as communal dinners, island explorations, weekly sharing circles, creative sessions, group walks, and more. Alongside these activities, the hub will function as a co-creative space, rooted in unschooling principles. 18+ Changemaker Experience: An incredible, immersive experience in the Caribbean island of Dominican Republic. This incredibly beautiful island is an amazing place to learn how to be a Changemaker. The impact of global issues such as climate change, plastic pollution, lack of quality education are felt keenly here. Dominicans are super friendly and keen to be changemakers too. You will work with local social impact projects to design local solutions to global issues that will have a lasting positive impact. You’ll experience first hand what it feels like to be the change the world needs. And most likely improve your Spanish, have an epic adventure and make friends for life. The basic Changemaker experience is 2 weeks long, but you can stay for 5 weeks (or longer) and really do something impactful in the community if you wish to. Happening in Cabrera, Dominican Republic. Belize Worldschool Hub – Hopkins Pop Up: This Pop-up hub is more of a choose your own adventure hub! They will have multiple tours to choose, from 4 days to a week. There are more adventurous tours that will cater to older kids each day, as well as mellow tours that are great for all ages. Some adventures do have age and/or size restrictions. The adventures will also be at a wide range of prices. You choose which tour, they handle all the logistics so you can pay for transportation and tours that work best for you and your family. Also included are several social gatherings for teens, as well as family gatherings. Family gatherings include paid-for dinners at the beginning and end of the hub with local entertainment. Unschooling Sailing Camp – The Netherlands: Join The Exploring Families for an immersive sailing experience where beginners can learn the ropes and experienced sailors can refine their skills. Hive Practitioner Training: Are you looking to homeschool, unschool, worldschool or have an interest in independent, progressive education? Then this immersive, 5- day Human Hive Learning training is for you. They will dive deep into what it means to be a self-regulating practitioner. You will learn how to self-regulate and co-regulate so that you can support those around you to become well-regulated, grounded, confident learners and human beings. They will look at the research and theory underpinning self-regulation and self-regulated learning, design co-regulating activities and put them to the test with the local & Hive community. Explore Belize Worldschooling Hub: The full hub includes 7+ hours a day, 3 days a week for 4 weeks of cultural immersion, self-directed support, and engagement for your children. There will be activities 2 days each week for outdoor or cultural exploration, and those can be complemented with unschooling style family co-op gatherings for an additional day each week. Kids will have the option to not participate in activities and be cared for in home spaces when they need a break. Pre-planned activities include transportation as well as lunch and snacks. The weekly family gatherings will include a picnic style lunch, and we will serve dinner to the kids who attend the Valentine’s Day babysitting. They will also provide transportation from lodgings in San Ignacio to lodgings along the Hummingbird and again to lodgings in Hopkins Village. A get-acquainted dinner the night before they begin is also included this year, as well as airport or bus station transfers from Belize City at the beginning and to Dangriga at the end.
